Our Trip to VA

What an amazing trip back to VA! It was filled with lots of friends and lots of family and I feel so blessed to have both! Kaeli and I were sick a lot of the trip, but we still managed to fit A LOT in, including the birth of 2 new babies in our lives .. one of which I witnessed! We reunited with friends we had not seen in a long time, I had an amazing girls night out (which both 9month prego ladies managed to attend), took the kids to Busch Gardens, got my night at Captain Georges .. yummy, and was surprised with a birthday party by an incredible group of friends and family!

The trip started out rough! Our plane was cancelled the Sunday we were to fly out, so we ended up leaving Monday morning instead which was not easy to get Ethan to understand but finally did! The next morning we were up bright and early and our dear friend Candice helped us AGAIN get to the airport and brought our car home. The flights were pretty uneventful other than being in the very last seat and I got horrible motion sickness; something I have never experienced before. Our layover in Texas ended up being over 3hrs due to a problem with the plane picking us up so we had to wait on another one. When I arrived in VA, they had lost Ethan's carseat .. I know, right?! We got to Jenna's and I was surprised by family and friends for a birthday party (since my bday was the week before). It was so great and I was so excited to see everyone! Christy even got a babysitter to be there for me! It meant so much to me! The next day was a great playdate at my friend's house. The kids were out of sorts, probably was not a good day to attend but I was itching to see everyone ... Ethan spent half the time inside pouting and Kaeli pretty much whined the whole time :-) Oh well, they were all mommies and understood my dilemma! haha. In the end it turned out great and we had a nice visit. I enjoyed a fabulous Girl Night Out (no piercings this time) at a nice seafood restaurant on the water, thanks to those who came out; for those that could not open up your calendar for end of September! :-) My mom took Ethan to Motorworld and he enjoyed being able to ride a lot of the attractions and cars by himself .. as well as a great marshmallow roast in her backyard at night, very special! We never made it "to" the beach, but we did take a nice walk down there with my dad and his wife and dad took E to dip his feet in and Kaeli sat in the sand (I am pretty sure it was her first time .. pics on my sister's camera). We encountered a crack head lady down there, which was quite an interesting moment; one that luckily ended as quickly as it started. The oceanfront just is not what it used to be, no enjoyment out of going down there anymore! We also enjoyed a beautiful afternoon at my Aunt Melinda and Uncle Arnies house, and got to see my cousins and the kids had so much fun playing with them. My sister Jamie was able to come down and spend 2 out of the 3 weeks with us, which was awesome! I witnessed a baby being born, amazing! And I also had another niece born, Hayden. Both beautiful babies, both so special! It was a great time had by all of us and our last night there we spent with my dad and special family friends. I have created a slideshow of pictures because there are SO MANY :-)

Love to you all!

It was nice to see you, Niki... especially since it will likely be years before I get to see you again. Wish we could've spent more time together, but I'll see you on Facebook ;)
